There are loud engine noises coming off what looks like a cast-iron bathtub on wheels. Meanwhile, the rules of the race are being announced to the spectators and riders from a lifeguard tower. These vintage cars are also restricted to replacement or add-on parts from the early s at the latest.
Vintage guitar players often times struggle with loving their instruments for the same reasons they may dislike them. One of the most noticeable hot rod modifications to this guitar is the replacement of the era-specific single coil pick-ups with a DiMarzio Tone Zone humbucking pickup in the bridge position and Fender Somarium Cobalt Noiseless SCN pickups in the neck and bridge positions. The benefits of a thin nitro finish sonically are due to a thinner barrier between the bridge and actual wood body of the guitar resulting in improved transmission of sound vibrations, resulting in improved sustain and tone.
Loaded with the most requested custom features built into Custom Shop models, the Vintage Hot Rod '62 is equipped with American Vintage Strat single-coil pickups, a larger "C"-shaped neck, and an American Vintage Synchronized tremolo. This is a vintage hot-rodded Strat for the 21st century! A Hot Rod '57 Strat is also available.
Hot rods are typically old, classic or modern American cars with large engines modified for faster speed. The origin of the term "hot rod" is unclear. For example, some claim that the term "hot" refers to the vehicle being stolen.

The Fender American Vintage HotRod Series offers new instruments with specs, looks and features that make them feel as if you were the third owner of a vintage instrument.
Great playing neck, great Strat sounds and more. I think these guitars are set up the way many players would like them to be. It is a factory custom, for now they are some of the best values in used guitars.

The '62 Vintage Hot Rod is without doubt the Strat to buy if you won't compromise on vintage aesthetics and tone, but are crying out for those real-world playability traits. For some players, anything post or thereabouts just won't do when it comes to Fender Stratocaster aesthetics. Such enthusiasts absolutely insist on the 'right' body curves, nitro-cellulose lacquer, spaghetti peghead logo, vintage-style vibrato and Klusonesque, slot-head tuners.
