Be Aware of Foreclosure Scams

There are three types of foreclosure scams. Here is a guide for you to be aware of such cheap designs and be alert when you are into a foreclosure process.

House owners at the risk of foreclosure are very helpless and there are many people who grab this opportunity and take advantage of these distressed house owners. It is important that the house owners should be aware of these scams.

Foreclosure scams can be found everywhere. The symbols that announce about the company’s intention to buy homes, pay cash for houses and speedy process of refinancing are spread everywhere. These companies propagate their ideas in a high manner to attract the people and most of the foreclosure rescue companies are scam. If you are careless, these companies will get hold of your home for an amount less than your purchase price of the same.

Foreclosure scams are of three types. The first one is phantom help followed by the bail out and the bait and switch.

Phantom help – A person or the company charges excessive fees towards telephone calls and paper work which can easily be done by the house owner himself. This will in no way save the house and just give false hope to the house owners for getting the help from the appropriate authorities.

Bail out – Cheating the house owners to sign over the title to their house. They are driven to the extent to believe that they will stay in the house by paying rent and buy the house at a later date – which never occur and the house owners will lose their properties.

Bait and switch – The house owners sign the documents with the belief to bring the mortgage current. But the real picture is that they are giving up the ownership of their houses which will be realized by them only on the receipt of eviction notice.
